No need to goop the back of the pads..
I'd use Textar pads and you are suppose to clean the travel area where the pad rests. Use a small brass parts cleaning brush. Then, apply a small amount of MB brake grease to the metal part of the pad(side contact point). If the piston moves freely, then you are good to go. While I use MB grease as I have it- it looks to me like an anti-seizing compound. M |

I've never used the anti-squeak either, I just glob some anti-seize on the back of the pads....have never had much squeaking issues so far.
