2001 E430 Sport - rt parking bulb replacment?

The front parking light is out on my 2001 E430 Sport. It has headlight washers. To get the bulb out of there, it seems I have to remove the washer bottle. I got it loose, but the big hose that apparently goes to the headlight washers won't come off, and it is nowhere near long enough (it seems) to lift the washer reservoir out far enough to manipulate the bulb holder.

Any hints?

And, if you know the bulb number, what is it?

Which bulb? Do you mean the city lamp in the high-beam reflector?

That's a H6W bulb. Most people seem to be able to change them without dismantling the car, although it does lead to some scrapes on your hands.

Yes Matt, that's the one.
I losened the reservoir and can somewhat move it around, but I can barely touch the back of the bulb, much less disconnect it.

Unfortunately, I'll have to remove the reservoir. Or maybe try to get my wife to do it. I other words, I have to remove the reservoir.

Mercedes (generally speaking) doesn't build things in a manner where you have to remove the washer bottle to replace a light bulb.

The correct procedure to replace the bulb is on page 121 in my W210 owners manual - once you know the "trick" its pretty easy.

Oppps - never mind I see you guys are talking about the bulb in the headlight housing - it is a PITA to change and in that case the owners manul isn't any help!!

You are correct. Generally things are easy to work on, once you know how the engineers decided things should be fixed. My manual makes no mention of the washer bottle which is clearly in the way.

So I decided to "study" the problem. DOH! The washer bottle is actually two washer bottles connected with a tongue and groove type arrangement. The skinny from reservoir for the reservoir (it is connected with a small hose, similar to the heated hoses found on my SL) simply slides up the groove and out of the way.

Plenty of room to work once that skinny reservoir is slid up and out if the way.

No tools needed.

So, why two reservoirs connected with a small hose??????

Now new socket & bulb juice and only one come on, put light in other socket and works fine, driver side will not come on? Indicator light on in dash, seems to be an indicator failure, relay or sensor?
