Exclamation 93' 190-E 2.6 Liter Troubles

Hey guys, Lately I've been having troubles with my benz. Sometimes when I'll be driving and I brake at a light and sit idle for a little bit the car will stop and die and I can't get it to start and then need towed...etc.

While I was stranded I noticed this orange tube coming from the headgasket was broken, and today after the car dieing I reconnected it (barely) and it started fine. Can someone tell me what this part is and how much it might cost to get repaired?

It looks like a vacuum of some sort. I dont know what needs to be repaired but looks like you will be able to do it yourself cheaply. The other one looks to be going to an EGR valve.
