blowing fuses- door (W124) Help
 

I was hoping I could get some help-

I'm blowing a fuse in the drivers door/passenger right rear door circuit. Some have suggested with no help of resolution- broken harness wires in the door/center post on the rhs.

Do you have any experience with this as I can't seem to find the short. Maybe I'm completely lost on diagnosis skills. I was hoping to find a connection in the center post so I could disconnect it and then somehow check..
I'm lost on this one and don't feel like arbitrarly splicing in new sections of wire without finding the problem.

Is there a way to get the window all the way up????????

The break is usually in the rubber tunnel that protects the wires between the door and the pillar. Once you cut the insulation off the wire in that location, you should be able to spot the problem. Mine was on the drivers side rear door. The passenger side is starting to act up now. Jeremy did a good write up on the repair.

To get the window up: open the door and move it in and out. It won't hurt to have a large handful of fuses, you're going to blow a few more.

#1 question is when does the fuse BLOW? If the problem is is in a certain window the fuse will blow ONLY when you operate that switch.

#2 is what year car?? The 1986-89 have 1 system & the 1990-95 use a different system.
