Why not just have roadside assistance bring you the correct nice MB battery and put it in for you? That is how I got my current battery! The only cost is for the battery itself.

My clk 320 is an 02 model with no waranty so I have to get one myself, I was trying to find one cheaper because money is very tight since the wife and I both have had surgery in the last 6 months and haven't been able to make much money.

If the beer store is near an autozone store , their group 49 battery is the exact same size as the MB battery and also comes with the proper vent tube. The price has gone up in the last 10 years or so and it is about $85 now.

Yes, you need the radio code and re-sync a few things like windows, seats, ESP, etc.

Or connect a portable battery (the ones they used to start cars) and connect that first before you remove the battery.

Will I have a problem with the cd player? It didn't come with the car, I bought it on ebay. also the phone system was added later.

Once again, call MB roadside to bring you one. This service is included for ALL MB's no matter how old. My car is an '82....and they still brought me one and even installed it for me. No warranties required. The only charge will be for the battery itself.

Ditto. You are covered by roadside assistance for as long as you own the car.

The only thing is get a price first, before you let them install. There are some dealers who try and get away with over charging. The service call is paid by Mercedes, they should charge for the over the counter battery, the typical price is $150 and they recode all windows and things, I dont know about your aftermarket stuff

Got my CLK battery replacement from Interstate Batteries...they are defunct in our area now, so I don't know if they still exist.

Other than recoding the radio, resyncing the top took very little time.

An aftermarket CD player (or phone) should pose no issues or require any rebooting.
