M111.960 Camshaft Position Sensor reading...

I had slight rough idle issue(no error codes), was checking all vacuum pipes and cleaning engine bay. I saw Camshaft Position Sensor plug was bit loose. I pulled it to clean the contacts and plug it back, but coil part of the sensor came with the plug.

I removed complete sensor and found plastic holding outer and inner part of the sensor was broken. I put the two pieces together with a touch of glue and re-installed and ran sensor test.

- This is 2 pin sensor, resistance measured across two pins = 1.89K Ohms.
- At idle a/c voltage reading was varying between 0.18 - 0.3.
- What does this voltage indicate?
- Is the sensor bad ? If not should shims be added or removed?

Thank you

Since that type sensor IS generating AC voltage, it is working.

IF you don't get a code then all is well.
