The other new pedal broke too! It's a cold night.

The cheap plastic used on these replacement pedals is just too brittle in cold weather. Thus the hinges break and fail.

As an emergency repair, I've resorted to using super glue and thin strips of vinyl as flexible reinforcements on both the upper flexible plastic hinges that broke on the pedal. I'm not sure it will last very long because this cheap plastic used for these pedals is not a type that glues well. The super glue bonds surprisingly well though. I roughed the surfaces up with 80-grit sandpaper to help get a better bond.

Now I will try to reinstall it….
