need help with ignition reassembly

Hi all, I have a 1995 E320 wagon and I had the bad ignition tumbler scenario and cut/hacked/drilled all of it out, I bought all new stuff including ignition lock housing, lock cover, tumbler and keys, ignition switch, ignition switch housing, 7 pole hardshell connector and cover, and the 3 self tapping screws to put the switch housing back on the lock housing. Ok so here is the problem, I accidentally pulled all of the wires out of the hardshell connector and destroyed the cover in the process, but the wires and their connectors on the end of them remain intact. I dont understand the sequence for putting it back together. I did find the diagram showing what wires go to which terminal but do I put them into the connector then install the cover then put that on the back of the ignition switch, or reverse ? Also how do you know that the ignition switch is in the proper position prior to putting it in the housing ? Oh gosh ! Can someone provide a step by step explanation for me, from reconnecting the wires in the hardshell connector all the way up to putting in the tumbler and lock ring? I can put the lock housing back in the column and reattach the wires, etc, and put my dash back in, I just need to get the specifics on these other issues. Please help.. Thank you, Adrian

That's no way to respond to a new member's first post! If you had bothered to look at his post count you would see that it clearly says "Posts: 1".

Adrian, please excuse some of our members who have an inflated opinion of their worth. Electrical wiring issues are not my thing, so I can't offer the help you're looking for, but some knowledgeable, helpful person will respond with useful information if you give them a bit of time.
