I didn't realize E320 Coupes were so rare

Well, at least the 1994's. Tomorrow I am buying a '94 E320 Coupe. I contacted MB Classic Center in Calif. and inquired as to how many were imported. They asked for the vin # and came back with 825. That's it, 825 E320 Coupes were imported in 1994. Per Nitske's book, MB built some 3,238 of them, yet obviously very few of those came here. I thought my 911 Targa at 1,430 being imported was low.

I plan on contacting them again via e-mail, to get a break down of each model year for the 320 Coupes.

Oh and yes the engine wiring harness has been replaced.

Saw the breakdown before, I think it was on this very web forum. IIRC, from 1988 to 1995, there were something like 7,000 plus C124 coupes imported to the states. Funny thing though, in my town, I was driving one day and within about five minutes, I saw three other coupes. And here I though I had the only one in the area.

There is one that I see every few days and it ticks me off because he put those stupid "i'm trying to pass if for a new model" lights on it. For another comparison, does anyone have the productions specs for the cabrios?

I am picking the car up in about 3 hours. So I will post some pitcures later today or tomorrow.
After reading the "E-Class Owner's Bible", I realized that the coupe I am getting has the "Sportline" package. The backseat is for only 2 people, with a wood center console in the middle. It also has the shade for the back window.

I didn't inquire about "sport lines" specifically. Again I didn't realize that was what I was buying. I only assumed all the E320 coupes were that way. Anyways, when calling the Classic Center, I word my question as such, "....... I own a '94 E320 Coupe and would like to know how many of them were imported into the U.S." She asked for my vin#, asking for just the last 8 digits. I gave them to her, she asked me to hold on. She came back on, asked for my name to "up date their records", put me on hold again. Then she came back on the line and said "there were 825 of them". That was the extent of the conversation. So, since she asked for the vin, which I assume would indicate that it is a "Sportline" that when she said 825, I would only presume that woud mean only 825 of them.

That is good,, but not the major concern on E320/124s...the Head Gasket and Evaporator are the major ones, and ETA are common things you may want to check right off. ..and hopefully , No ASR.
Build a code reader and check all the Modules for Faults. Tyen you will have a good picture .

Here is all that info:

Those sure are some fugly lights fulcrum, I agree.

Unfortunately however, the '86-'93 US lights are so bad, leaves one looking for anythign better, ... but a set of aftermarket Euros would be a much better budget choice certainly.

W124 coupes

Ah, coupes are rare but the E-class cabrio is more rare yet. Pretty nice beast, known as the A-124. Came to the US only in 1993, 1994 and 1995 to my knowledge.

Mine is white.

Coventry Motorcar in, Coventry CT (Rt 44) She has 145,000 on her. She rides real nice, not a squeak or rattle can heard. Accelerates and shifts real smooth as well.
It came with all the original books and paperwork. The car sold new in Feb 1994 for $64,975. The car spent it's entire life in MA, per Carfax.

Ha! I like the way the whale tail on your Porsche has become a shelf for the Merc's cleaning supplies. Now we know which car you love more.
