Trans rebuilding Q
Can a Mercedes transmission, being of the 3 speed variety, be rebuilt only so many times?
What type of flushing method is the the safest as far as dislodging things and mucking up the valve body? |
Any transmission can be rebuilt as long as parts are available.
Use a transflush, such as BG products, which will remove the built up burned transmission fluid, for instance. The valve body will be protected by the filter. |
Replacing "soft" clutch & bands can be done OVER & over on MB transmissions.
There isn't any good way to "flush" out a valve body. IF it has been contaminated with metal OR clutch material, you will need to completely disassemble & clean. |
