2007 E550 - what is it worth?

My other half has found a 2007 E550, black/black with 34K miles P1 & P2, MB certified - the Benz store is asking $39,900. We are thinking $35 - $36K is fair price for the car, what do you all think?

Also they are telling us that we can extend the warranty for 2 more years at $1,800 - has anyone had luck negotiating that down? The dealer is telling us the price is fixed and they can't cut it - I don't believe them! Any real world experience out there with MB Cert extension price negotiations?

Thanks, Mark

Dicker on the final TOTAL price...MBUSA sets the extended warranty price.

I would think that 54-60% of the new price after 2.5-3 years is a good deal.

What was the sticker price?

How many actually sell for 62k? Most of the ones like that at our local dealer are well above that....

Even at 70K list....most sold for 5-8K less in todays economy!

2-3 years ago that wasn't true.

I guess I overestimated the price a bit.

Either way.....you can buy a house for that around here!

M.B.DOC - You used a 16% depreciation rate in your equation.

Does that rate apply to all models that are CPO'd?

"According" to MBUSA's leasing program..... 60% on a 2.5-3 year old "E-class" in very good condition with average mileage (12-15K a year), Yes.
