a 300E question

I ask you knowledge laiden technical experts the following question. I have a front bumper cap from a 1990 300E, and one of my friends asked me if it will fit his 1994 320E, I don't know, and he lives quite a distance from me, so taking it over to his house is out of the question. Does anyone know if the front bumpers are the same or will he have to get one specifically for an 94.

I believe the '94 is different, the W124 got an appearance change (yet again) in '93

Actually, I'm pretty sure the change was '94 and not '93. '93 got the new engine but the body looked like the "older" 300E. And it was badged improperly as a 300E, since it actually had the E320's M104 engine and thus should have been badged as an E320. The '94 and '95 were facelifted and the last of the W124.

The front bumper from a '90 300E is the same part# for a '94 E320. It will need to be painted to match the car if required.

Same front bumper from '90-'95. Pre-'90 had no chrome strip on top but it can be added.

Rear bumper changed in '90 to add the chrome strip, and in '94 to have the rub-strip go all of the way to the ends. Again they are all interchangeable and the changes are only cosmetic.

The other notable change is that starting in '90 the bumper was color-matched to the lower cladding color on the car. When the rub-strip was painted, it became smooth (ABS-PC?) instead of the earlier textured (PA or PE?) bumper.
