2007 C280 Auto-Trans Service

Hello;
I'm new to this site and it looks great! Question: I recently purchased a 07' C280 Lux with the 3.0L V6 & 7-Spd Trans. I want to service the transmission, but there is no provision for fluid adding or even checking (no dip stick). How is this accomplished? What do I need and where do I purchase the tube and fluid check tool, etc.
Thank you.

Fills thru the drain plug.. www.asttool.com has a filling system OR just the nipple that screws into the pan.

Make sure to use the correct fluid.

2007 C280 Auto-Trans

Thanks for the reply!! How do I know the amount of fluid (quart capacity) necessary, is there a measuring device to know I have achieved the correct level? I heard there is an oil dip-stick tube and checking rod available to purchase and install, but I have no idea where to get these items if they indeed exist. Further, you mentioned the right fluid; is this a MB oil only? I'm a nut about proper and frequent PM's. Thank you.

That trans has NO provision for measuring.
At 100F with the engine running & trans in P or N, you simply remove the drain plug & catch any fluid that comes out.
IF no fluid comes out then add more until it does.

THE MB fluid is made by Fuchs or Deutsche Shell , their spec is ATF134 OR 4134, that is what MB sells under their number 001-989-68-03-10.

Okay, but if I extract the drian plug again won't all of the new fluid I pumped in all come out again? I guess having not done a service on this trans, I am trying to understand the full procedures.

Thank you!!

I have some pdf's on how it works,... send me an e-mail & I will send them to you.

ABOVE the drain plug hole there is a plastic tube that sets the correct height.
