not completely clear about chasis number
 

after doing a seach, I'm not certain. does anyone know where to find the chasis number? Is it the last 6 digits of the VIN? on W210 (E430). I'm trying to order rear brake pads and there is a split in the chasis number relating to the correct part.

You have a chassis 210.070..

The parts are by serial number , so you use the last numbers of the Vin

..lot easier if you list the year with the model...

OK, it's a 2001 E430 Sport

I don;t see any production series change on that chassis for that year.
