engine fan
my engine fan runs all the time...the wires have been cut
how can I test it to see why these wires were cut..so I dont blow up the car. thanks benzat 1982 380 SEC |
You get a wiring diagram, figure out how the system works, and find out why it is doing different.
Besides if you got a fan that works with the wires cut thats something special |
had this "problem" when i got my w123. the previous owner couldn't be bothered to replace the temperature-actuated switch which kicks the fan in at 90 degrees (i think) and just bypassed it by "jumpering" one of the relays so as to make it run all the time.
bad idea. it lead to a couple of hours of tracing why the engine sometimes wouldn't kill itself after i pulled out the key. replacing the switch solved the problem. |
thanks you that helps alot...I bet that is what the other owner did..
we did find the heater valve was taken out last year and ran a bunch of hoses around to bypass it..it would have been cheaper to replace it.. some people just dont have a clue how to take good care of a car!! thank you again benzat 1982 380 SEC |
