German but not MB
Hi
My friend has a 1980 Porsche 911. The car will start, but will stall quickly unless given some gas. Even if given some gas it will stall rather quickly. When the car is running it has excessively white or light color smoke coming from the exhaust then it will back fire and stall. The engine is oil cooled and does not have any water/antifreeze in it. It had a tune up about 7,000 miles ago. New plugs, wires, distribution cap etc.. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated. Thank You |
Manifold vacuum leaks. The K-jet 911s were notorious for backfiring and blowing various things apart including the plastic airbox itself.

I would suggest to check the manifold for a leak and definateliy install a blow off valve on the airbox.
