I didn't get any response from my last attempts so here we go again, I have what I believe to be slippage between 2 and 3 gear under moderate to heavy accel. I am going to try a new modulator. Read somewhere that MB had issued a service bulliton # 268 regarding this problem. I also have a problem with the idle. The car quits when I slow down and at time the idle is very unstable. I have checked out the throttle switch and will replace the idle speed bypass valve. One theory that I am working on is the signal to the tach which is used in several places in particular the fuel pump relay. The tach some times acts erratically at speeds abve 20-mph. Any thoughts, help?

The capacitors in the tach may be getting flakey, causing the erratic needle movement. This wouldn't cause any of the other problems, though.
