124 Coupe "horsehair" pad needed
I am looking to replace the original horsehair pad in my 1990 300CE. The original pad has a wire embedded in it with openings in the pad to attach the leather seat cover with clips. My car also has seat heaters and orthopedic seats, if that makes a difference.
The MBUSA dealer computers show p/n 124-910-23-50 as being the right item however it isn't as it does not have the integral wire and openings. Any help to find the correct OEM part would be most appreciated by me (and my lower back)! Thanks, Paul |

I believe you will find that the cross wires [rods] are not embedded in the pad. The clips go through the holes and then hook over the rod wires, which will be reused. They do not come w/pwd.
A tool can be mad by filing a small "V" in the blade of a thin, long reg. screwdriver blade. I/4 twist after the hook is placed over the rod will release the tool. In the event you seats are of a special order, forget the above...... |

Performance Products has them for the W123 so I think they have them for your 124. About $70 to 115 depending on the seat you have.
