Coolant Leak near the transmission on a 1988 190E 2.6

Hello, thanks for taking the time to read this. It looks like I'm getting a coolant leak from a perforated hose in the transmission tunnel? I think that that the hose originates from an electronic solenoid on the passesenger side fender wall. Can anyone explain how this system operates, or have you had this problem yourself? I'm just familiar with 2 simple hoses that circulate coolant between the engine & the heater core.

Pull up the floormat on the pass. front and look for coolant on the floorpan,if so it's probably the heater core.(not as bad as it sounds)
also remove the cowl vent screen and have a look at the heater valve(look for leaks at the lever right where it goes into the valve.
