No start on 87 260E
 

Car has been sitting for the past 9 days in garage while I fixed the window's..

I tried to start and nothing. Doesn't crank or anything at all. I charged the battery and it still wouldn't go.
I have been doing all electrical work...so any special fuses I should check that could be causing this? I checked everything in the fuse box just in case.

I have lights and everything works...just does not turn over at all.

Any ideas? Very odd.

HAve you tried moving the shifter into "N" & see if it cranks? OR wiggle the shifter?

Does the ignition switch FEEL normal?

And if the moving of the shifter doesn't help and the switch does feel normal....it could be a sticking solenoid on the starter....go under the car and bang on it, then try starting.

I feel silly....I put the shifter into reverse so I could put the ashtray back in and forgot to put it back.
