95 e320 tripmeter stuck at 0

I drove my 1995 e320 yesterday for the first time in awhile after I put gas in it I reset the trip meter now it won't count anymore. Is it just the reset shaft stuck, or the gear? Is taking the speedo out in the 124 the same as the 123? Thanks

Mine does this on ocassion as well. I can usually hear a faint clicking sound as I drive away from the gas station. (I reset the trip odo with every fill up)

Firmly pushing in the reset shaft and allowing it to snap back out usually unsticks it......

Hope this helps.

Someone once told me never try to reset with the car moving or it could strip the gear...

i once pulled an instrument panel and tried to replace the gear....it's a tough job... i just put the panel back

"Someone once told me never try to reset with the car moving or it could strip the gear..."

Very good advice. I should have added that I stop the car before doing the "snap release"........
