Did you solve your starting issue ? How ?
I seem to be having the same symptoms on my 126,1987,300SE with 103 engine

Yours would be a CIS as it has the m103, so you may not have the same solution to your problem as he did, although I do agree it would be nice if he posted how the problem was resolved for those with M104 engines with the LH and HFM systems.
Look around for postings about M103 engines and I'm sure you will find something as this seems to be an issue that comes around on this board quite often.
