Damn emergency brake!!
 

I recently decided to replace all brake discs and pads, and thought I'd replace the seriously neglected emergency brake pads as well. The emergency brake has more or less not been used in nearly three years, which is what I think is causing me trouble.

The problem is that the rear discs are to "big" to cover the emergency brake now! I think that the wires leading out to each brake might be damaged after all this time, hence does it not release fully. Any input?

It seems as though the emergency brake bands just aren't fully retracted..

There are adjustment screws on each set of e-brakes,make sure they are turned all the way in.
also make sure that e-brake shoes are centered on backing plate before you try to install rotors,there is not much clearance to start with and anything out of kilter will throw you off.
don't forget to adjust e-brake after rotors are installed!
