FROZEN banjo fitting, Advice, please!

My'94 E320 Wagon with level control needs a new set of nitrogen chambers to cure the "Corvette Ride" problem. I simply cannot loosen the fitting that attaches to the center port on each side. I've tried penetrating oil, breaker bars, a gadget that you hammer to induce turning and even an impact wrench. As this is being done on my back with the car on stands, I am a bit nervous about using an acetylene torch so close to the gas tank. I guess they are just frozen in place after 15 years.

Suggestions for loosening them would be very much welcomed.

Only a longer bar will break that fitting loose. Never use a torch around hydraulic oil, and since the fitting is oil tight, penetrating oil is a waste of time. I did the accumulators on my 95 wagon and the those banjo bolts were very tight indeed.

"Oil Tight" fitting

Not to discount Chas' advice...
A mixture of ATF and Acetone is tested to be the "Best Penetrant"
(DO Not: Breath or allow any exposure to ANY bodily opening, especially EYES!)
[Hell, with Acetone I'd be wearing an ABC suit with canned Air supply]

Smack the bolt head with a hammer a couple of times and then smack the wrench sharply to loosen it. Use a 6 point socket or wrench (not 12 point). Gradually increasing the torque will frequently not loosen a bolt/nut but will result in rounding off of the head. Mark
