Momentary hiccup

I have been restoring a badly abused '93 300CE since February. We are going on a extended trip in a few weeks and I am planning to use this car instead of my E420.
Saturday I took a friend to Parker, AZ for a memorial service and thought this would be a good shake down cruise. Parker is about 200 miles from here. To add to the excitement it was 114F a good part of the day. The car performed beautifully, ran a little hot but not dangerously and the AC kept us comfortable.
On the way back with the cruise control set on 78mph, the car hiccuped once. It happened so fast that I didn't have time to analyze it but I later thought it might have been fuel related. I was running a bottle of Techron Fuel System Cleaner at the time.
Any ideas?

What do you mean by hiccup? Did it cut out? Or just shudder?

Sorry. It acted like it didn't get fuel for a second or that the electrics mal functioned. It happened so fast that I had to ask myself "What was that?" I have put 5K on the car since February and it never did anything like this. I am very tuned to MB engines and sounds.
Since I will be going to remote places in September I would like my comfort level to be high.

I'd vote for a momentary cruise control glitch. Circuit boards in these are known failure items.

I was gonna say cruise control too. Did you have to reset the cruise after this occurred? If so, that's the most likely culprit...

Cruise control? Yes that makes sense. It didn't have to be reset but the duration was so short that maybe it didn't pick up.
Considering we were running at 78MPH in 114F temps for a couple of hours could very well have sent a resistor or chip on the cruise computer beyond it's temp limits.
Thanks guys for your insight.
