eBay brake rotors/pads?
Has anyone here ever used those slotted and drilled brake rotors on their cars here? What's you opinion? I can do my brakes all around for about $75-100 cheaper than I can thru local outlets. but I don't wanna buy crap.

Unless you plan on doing some serious road racing slotted rotors and corresponding pads are completely unnecessary. The slots are to relieve the gases from certain types of pad materials. Use standard brake pads and then standard rotors are all that is necessary.
In your climate you probably can even go road racing with standard brakes. |

I can tell you I bought a set for my wagon when I first got it from ebay. It was a squeaking NIGHTMARE. It took about 2 weeks for them not to squeak after the first TOUCH of the brakes. I applied anti-squeak paste and the anti-squeak bracket that it came with. 6 months later it was still squeaking when coming to a stop so I bought OEM pads and it has never squeaked once since.

I have Zimmerman (German) cross drilled rotors on all 4 corners of both my W124 and W126.....they are awesome. Extremely powerful stopping....I am using a variety of pads....Mintex on the W124, and PBR Ceramic Technology on the W126. My dad has had them on his W126 for a long time as well. They are awesome, and can be had very cheaply if you shop in the right places. (I paid under $170 for all 4 on both cars, per car)
I would not use cheapo ebay stuff, it is very likely made in China, and China rotors warp....always.

Odds are, they're crap on ebay. You get what you pay for with auto parts - I know, I've been selling them for over nine years.

If you're going to take your chances with cheapo rotors, at least buy the cheapos from a local chain so you can return them.
A good set of rotors will last longer than pads. A cheap set of rotors will be replaced twice before the pads are gone unless you really like the wheel-shake during braking. As Paul says, cheap (castings) will warp, no way around it. I've been in the casting business, it costs money to do it right.
