defective lamp warning

Does anyone know if the Highbeam indicator lamp on the dash is connected to the "defective lamp" warning signal on a '98 e300.
I have been looking for a lamp out and this is the only one I can find.
Thanks for any help

Question bulb check lite

1 have you replaced any bulbs ?
2 please inspect the rear tail lite bulb holders the plastic housing
for possible MELTED PLASTIC/CONNECTIONS seen lots of these on the 210 body
3 if you have replaced any bulbs? please check/inspect them for the correct bulb size/number/watt/etc
4 and the high beam will kick on the bulb check lite
good luck
OBTW PLEASE check the fog lites in the lower bumper

Lightbulb

Did you check the third brake light or brake lights in general and the license plate lights? Always overlooked!

i've been getting intermittent light outs since the onset of cold weather. that darned rear taillight assembly sure has loose fittings. all the bulbs feel loose and the rear fog contact broke off! i know the assemblies ain't cheap either, never mind that they're just some plastic parts...

Problem solved

Hey,
I found my problem. There is a seperate fuse box next to the light switch in a panel hidden when the drivers side door is closed. The right side highbeam and highbeam indicator circuit fuse are located in this box. I also understand that there is another fuse box under the back seat, where the battery is on this car.
'98 e300 turbodiesel.

thanks for the help

I am getting frustrated with this warning.
My defect. lamp warning comes one once in a while (once every two-three days) when I apply the brakes only.
a few days ago, I replaced all brake bulbs and it just did it again.
It's a 1997 W210 (E420), what else do I need to look for? The plastic cups that hold the bulbs seemed fine when I checked them. . .
