Unhappy 95 e320 Transmission and other weird things

Recently I posted info about a transmission (auto) incident I had with my 95’ e320 Sedan; which, I guess, was slipping or not engaging.

In review, I had taken the car on a 6 hour steady drive (SoCal to NorCal) in 96 deg weather. I had stopped somewhere in between for food and fuel. When I pulled out of the station and came to a stoplight, when it turned green, I pushed on the gas and the car moved forward only slightly as my engine sounded like it was revving like it was out of gear.

It appeared in gear, and I was barely moving forward, so I shifted my gears from R to 3rd and then back to drive, and it engaged and I had no incident the rest of that trip.

I thought it was maybe I didn’t have it in gear fully that first time; BUT, then a few days later, again in very hot weather, I went on errands, and after my 3rd stop, I returned to my car and the same thing happened, I was in gear, for sure this time, and the car only moved forward slightly regardless of how much gas I gave it. I let it sit, threw it in reverse, and then tried again and I haven’t had incident since then.

That said, I had my fluid checked and was told it was at the correct level and color, and since then I’ve had no repeat of the problem; however, I’ve been babying it since (no long or hard drives and staying away from hot days), it's messing with my mind and I am feeling anxiety about driving it (largely due to being poor right now, still). I just want to have that secure feeling again, love driving that car!

An additional strange thing is happening now, that I noticed my gas gauge was a little jumpy, up/down, last time I drove it around town. It wasn’t doing it all the time, but it happened a few times that I noticed it, like reading from half tank to 3/8, then back again.

My car is getting 24-28mpg on the freeway, and otherwise does not show anything less than pep in start, accelerating, performance, etc.; so I was wondering if anyone had any ideas of what might be my problem?

The following diagnostics were reported by my Mercedes Dealer when I had the car in the shop 9 months ago. They told me that these problems won’t have any real negative impact on the car or performance, other than emissions standards, of which this car is exempt. So to save money, I didn’t replace them. Now I wonder, if any of these have anything to do with my cars symptoms/problems now?

HFM Unit Faulty
Transmission Upshift Delay Element
Possible Air Mass Sensor fault

2 Heated oxygen sensor faulty
4 Air injection system faulty hot film mass air flow sensor with hot wire
5 Exhaust gas recirculation faulty (NEW)
12 Heated oxygen sensor heater circuit open or circuit short (NEW)
26 Upshift delay faulty

(My check engine light has been on for a while, and these have been the codes for about a year now, except 2 new codes showed up, 5 and 12).

does the car rev w/o corresponding movement? This Could be a LHM engaging.
