Same here! I've only bought two in my 6.5 years of driving....and they're both still sitting right outside!

I'd be doing the same thing he does if there was more of them around here though....there's just not many around at all....at least not any nice ones.

Big leak...

I waited on looking for a few days just because I was scared to discover what it was. I finally got the car up on ramps, and found it was only one of the tranny cooler lines. Its leaking quite a bit, but at least its an easy job.

The tranny cooler hose or the metal line between the trans and front of engine?

The hoses are easy to replace....takes about 2-3 mins each.

i would do em both so I could have the protection from the little springs wrapped around the hose. I have been left stranded by a belt snapping the line in two!

Easy peasy. They are changed, and its back to a leak free car. (knock on wood):o

The exhaust is finally nice a dignified like a Mercedes, but now that its quieter you can hear this hissing and ticking of the fuel pump. Thank goodness I have a source that can get a new Bosch pump for $180. The exact same one is listed for $308 on this site.

I still need to pull the center console and clean, plus fix the rear window.

Don't you have any junk yards around there? I managed to pull the entire rear fuel assembly (bracket, two fairly new pumps, check valves, accumulator, and wiring) from a 300E in our local yard for a grand total of: $16 Currently the pumps on the car are strong and quiet....have never looked at them yet....but at least I have spares. :D

Sadly the exhau$t is going to be an expen$ive thing in my 300E's future. It also needs the rear resonator and muffler. $$$ So far it is not leaking or loud yet, hopefully it lasts another year, or at least till next spring. I'm considering deleting the CAT at the same time.... :D

I would go used in most circumstances, but this car deserves better.

Pumps crap out alot when sitting for long periods. I suspect that's why the one on my SL decided to act up, as well as this one.

After trying unsuccessfully to buff out all the nastiness on the hood, I left it to the pros. They wet sanded the hood, trunk and roof in areas. I wish I had taken some detailed before and after photos, because the difference is astounding. When I started snapping the photos in my parent's driveway, my mom asked if this was a different car.

Their driveway is a lot more dramatic than mine.
