1991 300TE Brakes
They squeak and sound like the wheels are coming off.
Any recomendations on pad type for this model? My 95 E320 wagon has never made a sound. Thank you. |
As long as the rotors look good and the pads have adequate thickness, don't worry about the noise. Turn up the radio. If there are problems with rotors and/or pads, buy the necessary parts and replace them.

If the noise is happening with light braking only, the pads need shims or brake grease to stop the vibration between the pistons and pad backs. If the noise is with all levels of braking, try pads that are less metalic - or try Larry's suggestion.

nestorb98, if you prefer not to use genuine MB brake pads sold by the dealers try Textar brake pads. That's the brand I use on our MB automobiles and the brake pads never squeak or squeal.
