Can't fill gas tank!
2000 230 Kompressor
When I go to fill up only about 1/4 of a gallon will go in before the pump shuts off. After that, gas spills out of the filller. Any ideas? Its going into the dealer on Monday. |
I searched on "can't fill tank" and found this:

Yeah. My 97 started doing this, and despite the immaculate condition, $700 for a new filler neck and related "apparati" caused me to sell the car. After a decade. rot sets in. Seals are bad and the vapor release gaskets and vents are rotten or plugged or corroded. Massively annoying

Do you recall ever overfilling the tank? When the pump clicks off that is the indicator that the fuel tank if full. Continuing to fill the tank after it shuts off after filling may damage the charcoal canister and evaporative emissions system.

Resealing a power steering pump: who do I get that big clip in the back out?
Hi all,
I have oredered all the seals needed to reseal a Vickers power steering pump out of a '78 M117 engine. This is an alloy body pump with the reservoir integrated into the core. There is a round plate in the back which is kept in place by a big round clip. I figured out the round plate can be pushed back a bit but I have no idea on how to get the clip out of its gorge. Any tip would be helpful. Thanks in advance! |
