Power Steering pump: pressure increase effect?

My power steering pump has a scored vane cylinder and generally has reached the end if it's service life. It is rated at 95bar.

I have sitting in front of me a gift: A new Mercedes ZF pump rated at 110bar.

Now the obvious question: if I fit the 110bar pump how will it effect the steering? I would not mind slightly lighter steering and the PS high pressure hose is new and should hold the pressure. I would like to give it a try before sourcing a rebuilt or junk yard 95bar replacement.

Comments and suggestions will be appreciated.

Regards,
bobf.

The rating on that pump is for MAX pressure..durning normal steering operations the system will require less that 20-25 Bar.

No benefit to running higher pressure pump!

MB Doc,

Thanks for the prompt response. I assume there will be no effect and therefore no problem installing the 110bar pump in place of the 95bar pump. If I am wrong let me know quick.

Thanks again & best regards,
bobf.
