Question for MB Doc......
Question for MB Doc......
Is the block of a 16v engine the same as an 8v ? If so...I'm in buisness! I lucked on to a 16v head, and already have 2 8v engines kicking around.... I know the engine #prefix is the same for the 16v and later model 8v engines......\ Thanks

ALMOST the same, only difference is at the front of the engine. I have used several 8V blocks after a slight modification to the block. For the timing chain rail support.
The 8V engines are 102.985 & the 16V is 102.983(2.3L). The 2.5L 16V is a 102.990 engine
