How to test speed sensitive steering function on w210

any clues? The steering is harder at low speed than it used to be. How do I test the valve or the connector to it? if the valve has failed, is there a replacement?

Hi apb I posted a simular problem i had and still have with my 94 E220, but no one answered with a remmedy. My steering gets to the stage after a long drive to just about lock up-as if the power steering belt has broken. Around town it does not worry me but i would like to solve this problem. Hope you get an answer to this problem. cheers Baz

apb we have got them stumped, I have done everything possible to my front end, the only thing left for me to do is to recondition or replace the p/s pump or steering box, not sure if you have rack & pinion or steering box. I was hoping that there was a blocked hose or something simple-apparently not. but it would be nice if someone had a easy solution... cheers baz
