Car will not go back in reverse
I have a 1980 MB 300SD. On flat surface, when put into revese, the car will not go back unless I press the gas pedal for about 30-40 seconds until some pressure is built up and then it will go back. Would you please tell me what is wrong with my car and what parts need to be replaced?
Thank you, Ali Zadeh |
Reverse
The bore that the reverse piston lives is worn, when reverse is applied the fluid passes around the piston. When you raise the engine speed you also increase flow volume and some times the piston will move.
sometimes a new seal ring will help. MF |
This trans has an adjustable reverse band!~ Many times the adjustment bolt will back out & then NO reverse. This bolt is on the RIGHT side of the trans just above the kickdown solenoid.
