Crazy Idea? 4matic to 2wd?

I am having an issue with my 91 300te 4matic. It dumps, DUMPS hydraulic fluid on to the exhaust when I get on the highway. It of course lets out a huge white plume and horrible smell. The smell of money as I drain my Febi HF out. I have heard some people say do a HF to ATF swap but I still would rather not have any sort of fluid drop. I would like to keep the fluid in there for the SLS. New transfer case is out of the question.
Does anyway know if I can just plug in the tube going in to the transfer case in to the tube going out of the TC? I would also be willing to clean and silcone the area it is coming out. Does any of this stuff make sense? Also does anyone know where I could get a detailed shot or schematic of where this thing is leaking? Transmission seems to still shift well, and I do not see putting a 2wd transmission in.
Thanks guys,
Daniel
