Accessory Belt Tensioner bolt question

Does anyone know the size of the proper bolt/washers/nut for the top of the belt tensioner shock where it fixes to the bracket on the front/top section of my 1991 300te engine?
The current bolt is not proper length and is a wee bit too short, so as it does not thread all the way through the securing nut.
Thanks,
J.

That probably means that the tensioner has failed and needs to rotate too far to create tension. BTDT.

I replaced the tensioner and noticed that the proper hardware was
not on my car, currently I have a bit of a makeshift setup
going. The bolt I have in place only threads in halfway to
the rear nut. I am trying to get my hands on the proper setup.

Why not just take the bolt to a bolt/screw shop and get a longer one?

Okay, I understand now. I thought that you were talking about the adjusting nut.

Answer = M8 x 30, and the corresponding M8 nut. It wasn't quite as easy as just driving up to the hardware shop b/c the car was in a state of repair. It is a-ok now with the proper bits. If you haven't already, feel free to disregard this thread. :D
