In addition to the size and cranking amps, would anyone have suggestions as to which brand/where to get/pricing? :) |
I put the biggest the tray will hold in mine....a group 49 1100 CCA unit like the diesels use.
Can never go too big. :D |
Awesome thanks! Yeah it has this tiny little battery in it with only 500CCA.... Lol

Or a red-top Optima, 34R I believe.

Battery size
If you are a member of the MB club, you can get the biggest battery for about $90 from your dealer. It fills the battery tray. I agree, you can never go too big

From experience, no matter what I get for my W124, be it from the dealer or from Walmart, the Texas summers almost guarantee a 3-year life span for any battery I've purchased...

Our Palm Springs Summers beat your Texas Summers:)
I've consistently got 6+ years out of my batteries. The first was a '87 300E and the most recent was a '95 E420. I was amazed to find the battery on the 420 was almost 7 years old. Of course both of these batteries were 84 month types. My cars have always been garaged but when I come back after a run in 115F temps, I pop the hood and let all of that heat out of the engine compartment. Of course that is not much help on the 420 because the battery is in the trunk but it certainly can't hurt the rest of the engine components. Anziani '93 300CE 180K '95 E420 117K |
