THANK YOU steve brotherton!

i want to thank steve, walter, and richard at contiental imports.

i had my stem seals replaced in my '92 300e.

i had been adding sometimes as much as 1 quart every 500 miles! my local m.b. dealer wanted me to get the head redone, only $ 1600.00. NFW am i going to do that.

i contacted steve, we spoke a few times, and set up a time to do this. he's not exactly in my backyard, but i wanted him to do it.

they have a GREAT FACILITY! very clean, very friendly, very PROFESSIONAL everything you want, need, and expect in a service center.

steve showed me around, told me about the place and introduced me to the man working on my car. steve even made sure i got to look in the engine before everything was put back together!

i had just changed headlight bulbs in my euro lights and needed to make a few minor adjustments, so i asked him if i could borrow a "wall". he said he had a bosch euro light aiming machine! i was thrilled.
now FINALLY "properly" aimed euros! just in time for a nice long drive home, mostly at night! i was looking forward to it.

no oil consumption on the way home. hooray.

if anyone needs a place to get their car serviced in florida, i HIGHLY recommend them.

thanks again steve.

peter

Thumbs up

I live about a hour away and I had the pleasure to meet Steve last year. I was on my way to Tampa and, without an appointment, he did fit me in his VERY busy schedule to fix my instrument cluster. Try that in a MB dealership!!!
I also had a very good impression of his shop and all his people, including his brother. I do have a local mechanic but for major stuff, Steve is the man.
I have a few things that I am just waiting to have some free time so hopefully I can see him in the near future.
I highly recommend Steve and his shop to anybody within driving distance...
NO, Steve did not pay me to say this

Lightbulb Cloning at its best

Can we clone Steve (and his mates), and have them here too?

I am fortunate enough to be relatively close to Gainesville (just under 2 hours), and had to oppurtunity to have him work on my car. He is a great person to do business with and would take my car to anything that it beyond my scope of repair ability.

STOPPPPPPP TELLING ME MORE OR I'M MOVING NEXT DOOR TO STEVE!

Hehehehee ... this testimonial thread to Steve is very heart-warming. I sure hope that everyone in his industry - worldwide - would take heed of his ability and passion for what he does.

I remembered looking for a dyno handheld set once, and was quite impressed with his reponse and follow-up, Even though I didn't get what I wanted, but the fact that Steve was interested and actually did some following-up impressed me. Never doubted his ability from thereon and knew that whichever car he works on, and who ever he meets whether as a client or a friend, you'd definitely know you're in good hands.

Bravo, Steve!

Gosh, I really don't know what to say.

Probably the best thing about this trade is the ability to see a problem through to its conclusion AND have that conclusion help someone else. This often feels better than money. I know it is the reason many top techs stay instead of doing other more lucrative endeavors.

I really appreciate the warm comments. I feel that I need to reply so that you know I read them. Believe me I read them! I printed Peter's post and gave it to Walter and Hannelore; his wife (our office manager). Richard had Friday off so I will pass it to him on Monday. He is one of the top techs I was refering to above, it will make his Monday, I'm sure.
