What lies behind dashboard on w124?

I have a weird clicking noise that happens when the engine is cold. Its definitely NOT coming from the engine. It's behind the dash, but I can't quite pinpoint it. Its near the glovebox or under it somewhere...

I heard there is a motor for the climate control fan in there...but I don't know where...Does this sound like it could be the culprit?
It seems to go away after driving about 2minutes, but if the car is cold and ignition left on, it will click away randomly for a good 20minutes, maybe longer but I never left it on that long...

I have a clicking behind the speedo cluster on my '93 300CE. It happens about 10 MPH on start up. I can't tell if it is a speedo cable noise or an actual relay pulling in and out. It goes away after one cycle. Any ideas guys?

I have the occasional clicking from the Duovalve behind the firewall. It sounds like its coming from the instrument cluster when it's actually in the engine compartment. (My car is RHD so the duovalve is on the same side as the steering wheel.)

Sounds more like a "whirring" sound than a clicking.

Supposedly related to the climate control, and only occurs briefly upon startup.

Mine's done it since I got the car 12 years ago...always does it.

Possible speedo cable? My old VW had a similar thing. Does the speedometer shake at all when it does this?

Not its not coming from the cluster. Its either the center console or behind the glovebox.

Could it be my Climate Control Unit? I guess just thinking about it thats the only thing I have changed in that area in the last month since it started.

Behind the dash under the passenger vent there is a small air sampler motor/fan for the climate control. My suspicion that is the culprit. The fan can be accessed easily by removing the glovebox interior.
