Fighting corrosion on hose connections?

Anything I can use to clean off the corrosion on the hex connectors on the fuel lines, etc... and 'renew' them? Same question for aluminum & steel parts...

It sounds like you're talking about zinc oxide, aluminum oxide, and iron oxide. The first two cannot be touched chemically -- only mechanical cleaning. Light amounts of iron oxide can be cleaned with citric acid.

On the Porsche forum I frequent, some of they guys remove all of the fittings, connections, bolts, brackets etc when doing a restoration, get them bead blasted and then yellow cad plated.
