Questions on 93 wagon with 4matic.
may look at a 1993 TE 4matic but I thought the early 4matics were problems. I don't know the mileage or much else but I am concerned about the 4matic and what kind of mpg's to expect. Thanks

The clutch pack in the 4-matic unit is the most common failure.
Allows 4-matic hydraulic oil to leak into the transfer case.

That car is the worst car ever build by Mercedes Benz, actually, when they launched the new generation 4MATICS,in 1998,with the W210 chassis(that is a reliable and well build awd),they shipped the first units without the 4 matic badges, because they could not decide to use the old name:4matic,people associated that name with a total junk...finally they did not changed the name, and the dealers had to order badges to put on the few units allready sold...bottom line: just stay away from that car.
