socket size, type W126 front shocks
Are the lower shock bolts that bolt the shocks to the control arm a 12 pt. socket(what size) or are they a special bolt(like a torx)? Unfortunately, I have to remove them and don'y have the car here to figure out what size socket to use. Any mechanic happen to know? Thanks in advance.

Woody,
You need a 10mm 12pt. socket. 3/8" drive works for me. Nolan Last edited by DieselGuy; 11-21-2001 at 03:58 AM. |

Although I think a 3/4" drive might be a bit of overkill, seeing as my 3/4 " drive is bigger than my torque wrench. :p

126 front shock bolts
I found that if you can find a socket extension with a swivel it works great. Definitely the 12 hex.
