W203 (C-Class) door jamb contact switch
 

The driver's door jamb contact switch in my 2005 C230 (W203) broke and I have a replacement. I'm talking about the little plunger switch that turns the dome light on when the door is open. I got the old one out without removing the plastic trim that covers the seat belt. Two questions - how does the switch install? It looks like it may slide into slots on each side? or are there tabs or something? can it be replaced without removing the plastic trim covering seat belt? Thanks
