126 all warning lights glow dimly
126 300Se 89
Hi all I noticed that all the warning lights are on very dimly at night time . Never had this dim glow before .Seems like a bad ground somewhere. Appreciate insight into this apparent fault Thanks mak |
IIRC this could be a symptom of the OVP Relay issue....unless that's in W124s only and that some how W124s are setup differently...

My 126 did that when the alternator was dying.

Its the voltage regulator on the rear of the alternater....Get a new one for about $25 and change it...only 2 screws...or have a used up, discharging battery.

fault rectified
Thanks for the input .Among the the first things i checked was the Alternator voltage, its at 13.7 V engine running,
OVP i cleaned the pins and reinstalled . i will replace the regulator then recheck the regulator was replaced and the dim glow from all the warning lights including the reserve fuel went off. the alternator was previously charging at 13.7 V now i have a14.1 V .charge Seems a gradually failing regulator caused the condition . mak 300SE 89 |
Thanks for the feedback on what fixed it, and happy motoring now that it's done!
