Repair Manual
Wanting to purchase a repair manual for my 190e. I have seen some on ebay and they claim to be genuine, but was wanting to check if anyone had experience with them. I noticed fastlane has a bentley for this model in the 40 US range. Do you have an opinion which would be the best choice? The CD's are like in the 19.95 US range of sorts.

And what are you really trying to say?
I can't tell from reading your paragraph if you are asking or telling. It is pretty convoluted.

The only original manual comes in two forms...
-Paper -Plastic (CD) For the plastic, call 1-800-for-merc (that's Mercedes Benz themselves), pay the 20$ or so and don't look back. Then copy the disk to your hard drive and download the better quality index (anybody want to add the URL for that?) Why by a bootleg when you can have the real thing. As for paper, there is the W201 chassis/body manual, the engine manual specific to your model (M102, M103, OM60x, etc). The Climate control manual and the electrical troubleshooting manual. The CD is just easier; one stop shopping. Thx -CTH |
I searched their site for that particular year & auto etc. and came up with a big zero. There was a reference to a like spec kind of manual but the description of it was not like a detailed manual for repair. I will try calling the number and see how that goes. I have a Haynes book that I purchased several years ago when I owned a previous 190E. It isn't worth having in my estimation. That's why I was questioning the Bentley Fastlane has. Bentley makes one for my TDI that's an excellent repair manual. It's like over 1 bill, but well worth it.

Bentley has been the MB publisher for decades, until this arrangement ended
about 10 yrs ago when they discovered computers, PDF, etc. That said, the Bentley publication you see referenced is undoubtedley the best thing out there information/detail-wise for your model/year. |
Bentley manuals
The Bentley manual with a "E class Bible " tile is a worthwhile addition to have for all 80 -90 model cars . I found it very informative.
