88 201 No back up lights since Alt replacement
 

Hello Looking for some help on a 1988 190E 2.3 I was replacing the alternator and the replacement unit didn't work so I replaced it again. Now my back up lights don't work, they did before the replacement. I checked the fuses in the see through fuse block and all look good and test good....
Can anybody help

On that car power to back-up light switch (on transmission) comes from fuse # 9.
From back-up switch to lights.

Thanks for the reply, I did check the #9 fuse and it tested fine, replaced anyways and the lights are still out. They worked before a few days earlier and so did the blinkers, one time the blinkers stopped working and I pulled the blinker relay and plugged it back in and everything worked. Is there a chance the back up cuircutry runs near the blinker relay?
