Tools and procedure to replace U Joint on Prop Shafts
I been looking for the special tools to replace the Universal Joint for W123, W126 and W124

They are swagged in place.
You would need to remove the old swaging, obtain a correct size joint, and then center and swage the new one in place. If you want tools, you should talk to a specialty tool dealer- not a common request. |
Anything is possible
But the center "U" joint is not a "DIY" job. The joint gives very little trouble as it's angle of operation is very limited being that the differential is bolted to the car body. There is a machine company in Oregon that will rebuild the whole driveline if necessary. If you take the drive line apart , mark it well so that it can be re-installed with the parts properly matched. Some of the later drivelines have a match mark on them. That will insure that the original balance remains in the whole drive line.
