Angry Woke up to shattered glass EVERYWHERE!!

Well guys, my 560SEL was raped! As I walked out of a friend's apartment this morning, I noticed what looked like (at a distance) my front passenger door closed but not all the way which looked strange because I figured no one was on that side but maybe I didn't fully close it. As I walked closer to the car to "bump" the door closed, I noticed my glove compartment open with my crap all over the place, and wires where my CD unit USED to be! As shocked as I was I assumed the door was unlocked (which I NEVER leave unlocked so...)Then I looked up to notice the rear seat to find glass all over the place which explained that they broke the glass to get in.I can only guess that someone was watching me because I didn't get in until about 4:30am and was leaving at 6:30am! The real bi-tch part about it is the fact that I've NEVER left my radio in the car because its a simple flip face and this ONE TIME I was sooo beat after DJing I figured I'm gonna be right outta here and just grabbed the stuff I could and left.Anyway, they got about 300 CD's that were in 3 binders under the seat, checkbook, organizer, but the idiot didn't take my digital camera that was in my bag they went through (because it was a lot a corporate papers in there I guess they thought it wouldn't be anything there they'd want). Also luckily my CD burners, records mixer was in the trunk! Anyway I've gotta friend who owns a glass company sending one of his guys up to the job to replace my glass for no charge (favors are good!) Damn shame the so called radio anti theft alarm doesn't go off when you break the friggin' glass or at least MINE didn't! On top of that, instead of just removing the antennae from the unit, they broke the wire so I have to replace the whole thing with another head unit to boot! I've got another sound system for it and will be jamming by this evening but a crapload of the CD's aren't replaceable because I've collected CD's from different countries and the theif will probably toss em because he can't "relate"! Also noticed a dry blood run down my rear drivers side passenger door probably from the stupid bastard reaching in to unlock the door when he broke the glass! I hope he slit his damn wrist! Anyway, just had to vent and there will be another alarm on her by this weekend!!! Moral of this story if any: I don't care HOW tired and sleepy you are, especially if you have something as easy to remove as a flip face head unit in your car...remove it when you leave your car whether for a minute or a couple of hours. SOB...SOB...SOB...SOB...SOB!!!!

I know it's a sickening feeling to get you car violated like that. You have my sympathy.

As for getting the irreplaceable CDs back, you should try the used CD stores in your area, buy them back and/or report it to the police so they can interview the CD store clerks.

I am sorry for what has happened.

I do hope that your insurance would be able to bear part of the loss.

I have a friend whose car was stolen right out of his own driveway!

He was more pissed about a specific hat that he had in the car than the car itself.

It is amazing what some people will take.

I had another friend whose car was stolen. The car had a coolant leak she was going to get fixed that day, and the thieves did not know this so the car overheated and the engine was toast.

My truck was once broken into, they left everything but my school bag (I was in high school at the time) and it had my entire semesters worth of notes because it was finals week!!!

My truck had the radio stolen from it as well at a party, but my brother had borrowed it and left the unit in the car.

It really sucks when your car gets broken into, but it sucks even more when you lose something irreplacable, such as your Entire CD collection, sure lots can be replaced, but like you said, some where from around the globe.

I agree on the DNA Idea. It might not be a bad one to have the guys DNA on file or so, perhaps he has a record already with DNA on file and his DNA would ID him.

Do what i did. even though i have a slow diesel(which is not a good car to make a mad dash in) i have a kill switch in series with the starter realy. you can hide the switch in all kinds of places inside the passenger cabin or even in the trunk if you are going to use it ocassionally(bad idea if someone is chasing you to the car). with this installed it is had to find the wiring to jump it. it will not help if they just want your goodies, but to save your car that is a really cheap and effective way to go.
sorry to hear about all the damage..

Angry I feel YA

3 weeks ago today, I walked out to my garage, to find my garage door open and my hammer on my wife's 98 regency.... The hammer was used on my 95 S320, factory alarm the hole nine... I have only had it for 3 weeks prior to this vandalism. They hit the passenger window with a hammer, then attempted to steal it. I do not think my alarm went off either. They wrecked the phone dash cover and I had left the valet keys in the center console post a trip to Benz dealer for repair. When I looked, the keys were in the ignition, but of course the car wouldn't start so thank goodness for the anti theft starter system. People do not care, they proceeded to trash both cars. I finally got it back today, boy did I miss the ride. Hang in there.
