Instrument Panel Lights

Just a point of information in case you have a mysterious blackout with your instrumentation/dash lights and it is not the fuses!

The lights in the instrument cluster and the entire dash suddenly went dead. It was not the primary or secondary (red) fuse behind the cluster at least for my 1989 300E. It could not be that simple! I remembered adjusting the rheostat just before the lights went dark! Sure enough, on back of the rheostat one the soder joints broke and interupted the circuit. After a quick soder repair everything worked again!

These old cars just love your attention!
